A residential school dedicated to uplifting underprivileged children. Currently they home to around 320 students from Nomadic, Denotified, and other disadvantaged backgrounds. Gurukulam provides quality education and shelter to help them break free from poverty.

Gurukulam is committed to empowering backword communities by integrating traditional skills with modern education. By designing a unique curriculum that blends the inherited talents of Nomadic and Denotified Tribes with advanced learning. Special importance is given to regional and native languages, while making education. This innovative approach not only for academic growth but also strengthens cultural identity.

The NGO is running by Mr. Girish Prabhune, he is a well-known social worker from Maharashtra, recognized for his extensive work. He has been actively involved in their upliftment through education, social reform, and rehabilitation efforts.

In 2023, Mr. Prabhune honored with the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian awards, for his significant contributions to social work. His dedication has positively impacted countless lives, ensuring dignity and opportunities for communities historically neglected by society.

Financial

  • Spend on construction for Gurukul.
  • Cost for construction of one leaves hut is around Rs. 2,00,000.
  • Art and science books Rs. 10,000.
  • One day meal (Lunch + Dinner) for all children is Rs. 15,000.
  • Expense for one kid for one year is Rs. 15,000.
  • Expense of vehicle for children’s transport, sports material, music, drawing, pottery, sculpture, etc.

Volunteer

  • Daily two hours for specific work or few fixed days in a year or dedicated one year. Gurukulam needs your support as you are– Dada, Tai, Aaji, Aajoba, Friend and many more..
  • Volunteer for personal development of students, increasing their interest in science, teaching them lessons of independence, hard work, solar energy, environment, cleanliness, school material, trip, different types of workshops, business-entrepreneurship, computer education, etc.
